CITY SETS. Discover the design. World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 exhibition

Monday, April 30th, 2012

The City Sets Paris exhibition is part of Designer Days Festival, the biggest yearly design event of France, from 31 May to the 4th of June. In this exhibit the metaphor of “city as stage” is introduced and used in order to critically investigate urban design, the multimodality of human action within it and the narratives embedded in the urban landscape. Two City Sets workshops, held in Helsinki and Paris, have yielded high quality photographic material that will be displayed in various RATP metro station vitrines along line 14 until the end of August.

The City Sets Media Player archive, containing the works of all participants since 2010, will be on display at the Finnish Institutes’ ground floor, along with Heidi Tikkas’ At Hand interactive touch installation on the street window. Another version of the archive will be on display on the first floor, as a random automatized video display installation by students from L’École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (EnSAD), both until the 30th of June. RE/F/r.ACE performances by Merja Puustinen and Andy Best will take place at Petit Bain by the Seine the 2nd and 3rd of June.
