Media Lab Helsinki

Crucible Studio's Artistic Research and Development methodology is content-led, practice-based and multidisciplinary. It

1. defines new practices and potential rising forms of communication and
2. creates high quality experimental sample research productions that
3. investigate the validity of definitions by engaging real audiences.

The research production process

4. specifies technological, commercial and cultural R&D needs,
5. produces new applications and practices for media technologies,
6. informs about the development of digital culture – the stories we tell and
7. reflects the findings within new media peer communities and related fields, such as computer sciences, social studies and dramatic arts, by artistic/academic publications and conference/festival participation.

Crucible Studio encourages discussion and social empowerment by sharing the results with the general public, the importance of which is rising along with the increasing use of narrative media for social communication.
